Questions about the play and sightings!
Hi everyone *waves*. This is my first post and was just wondering a few things about the play. I would really like to go, just trying to get it planned etc at the minute!
Anyway what I would like to know is... *what time does Orlando arrive at the theatre (i've seen 5pm mentioned in other posts) *do you need to leave early from the theatre to wait outside after the play? (for example during the curtain call or somethin?) *what seating area is the best (Stall or circle?) Thanks everyone in advance! xx |

If it's a night time performance (i.e 7:30) and you wanted to see him arrive I'd go about 4:30 and wait....if it's for a matinée go about 12:30 and wait if you are interested in going after the play but not seeing the play i'd go around 8pm and you'll have to wait about an hour or so after the play finishes and the come out because you come out after the play you aren't going to have a good spot to either get an autograph i sat in the stalls both times I don't think there is a bad seat in the house. i was in row A and row D and they were both pretty good seats.

Hi pirategirl1310
I think you can also wait for him after the play finishes, that's what I did both times and I got his autograph and was right in front of him ![]() Last edited by Isabella : August 18th, 2007 at 06:13 PM. |

Re: Questions about the play and sightings!
hey everyone, i'm going on saturday the 15th at 2:30 with my mum (second to last showing, I only just managed to get tickets !!!) and was wondering what seats S11 and S12 are like - they were the second most expensive type (my bank balance is suffering now lol) and are in the stalls. I was just wondering which seats are the cheaper £15 ones in the stalls - are they the ones closer to the front where you dont get such a good overall view of the stage but are closer to the actors?
I suppose what I really want to know is, will I get a good view of Orlando ??!!!! Also, what are the chances of getting his autograph and pix after the show - do I need to rush out quickly - I'm guessing that cos its a saturday and the penultimate showing there will be lots of fans waiting outside the theatre on sat so am worried i won't get a look in. Last question.... what time does he arrive for the matinee performances and does he greet fans when he arrives? Thanks to anyone who could be bothered reading all that and even more thanks to anyone who replies!!!

Hi,
I just returned from London yesterday and saw "In Celebration" on Sept 11. If you want to have an opportunity to take good photos of Orlando you will need to arrive around 11-12 noon on the day of a matinee showing to get a good spot on the sidewalk (I think there is one on Friday). He will likely not sign any autographs because of time constraints, but this was the only time I was able to get any good photos. If you see the bodyguards come out, then expect him within an hour. Good luck trying to get an autograph. He only signs after the evening shows and unless you are rude and pushy, you will get knocked out of the way by someone who is rude and pushy. I was three people back from the front where he was signing autographs and I got so mashed, that I just decided it wasn't worth it and forced my way back out. HOWEVER, after lingering a bit, I headed toward the Leicester tube station and Orlando and Sidi ran past not 3 feet from me. Poor guy, it stinks that people can't just be respectful of his privacy. Instead he has to run away from his fans to keep from getting mobbed. The theatre is small, so there aren't "bad" seats, but stall S is toward the rearmost portion on the floor level. I was in stall A and could see that he chews his fingernails and his veins were standing out on his hands. I would bring binoculars if you really want a super close up look of him. The play itself is fabulous and i would watch it again even if Orlando weren't in it. Just a quick synopsis of the storyline. The three sons return home to celebrate their parents 40th (I think) wedding anniversary. (Orlando is first on stage.) He is the youngest of the 3 brothers. However, while his mother was pregnant with Steven (Orlando) the youngest son (Jamie I think was his name) died. His brother Andrew is a lawyer turned artist that is upset that he was sent away to live with relatives for a bit after the death of Jamie. His mother couldn't handle being pregnant with Steven and caring for Colin (then 2) and Andrew (then 5). He holds a grudge against his mother for it, and tries to make light of everything by being a jokester. Colin is a successful businessman, and poor Steven is eeking out a living to support himself, a wife and 4 kids. Everyone was affected by the death of Jamie and it just all came to a head after they returned from the dinner party. Andrew let it all out, Colin tried to act as a mediator, and poor Steven just cried unable to cope with the feeling that he was only a substitute for precious Jamie. You will laugh and you will cry! Hope this info isn't too late for you. Enjoy yourself! Lucy |

The Stalls are closer to the stage but you will not get a full view of the upstairs part of the stage. The cirle gives you a full view of the stage but your futher back. I gues you have to decided what you like better. I was in the circle. And it was great. |

Re: Questions about the play and sightings!
Here's the official site! There should be all info needed.
In Celebration I just looked at the map and OMG!!!!! I was there!!!!! 10 1/2 years ago though. *lol* I don't know for sure if I actually walked past this theatre, but I definitely visited that area. Those streetnames and places there look all too familiar. I think I will have to take a closer look at my photos I took back then now. Pretty likely, I walked along that street there and hence, walked past the theatre...
